Richard Morris, who joined Smith Seckman Reid in 1990, leads the firm’s Southwestern Division with offices in Houston, Dallas, Phoenix, Denver and Kansas City. Morris is responsible for managing multi-discipline, multi-team offices, participating daily with the development of new clients and markets, negotiating client/owner contracts and fees, and architectural/MEP project coordination. His division specializes in work for healthcare and other institutional facilities.
Morris also serves on the Board of Advisors for Spaulding for Children and is an active member and contributor to state and national professional organizations, including the American Society for Healthcare Engineering. He is a member of the National Register of Peer Professionals, a General Services Administration (GSA) panel that is an integral part of its nationwide Design Excellence Program. Morris serves on the Texas State University College of Science Technical Board of Advisors and has lectured at Harvard University, University of Houston and Kansas State University.
