The following area engineering firms have received Grand Awards for Engineering Excellence from the American Council of Engineering Cos. of Tennessee: Barge Waggoner Sumner & Cannon for work at Marshall Space Flight Center; EnSafe Inc. for a Tennessee Department of Transportation project; Gresham Smith  for a TDOT project; KS Ware & Associates for work on the Omohundro Water Treatment Plant and the Wolf Creek Dam; Smith Seckman Reid Inc. for Stones River Treatment plant work.
