11/26/2007

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Ben Ledsinger and Justin Abart have recently been hired by SSR Ellers, the Memphis office of Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. (SSR), an engineering design and facility consulting firm based in Nashville. Ledsinger will serve as senior design engineer for the transportation division and Abart will serve as a graphic information system (GIS) operator for the environmental division.

Ledsinger is responsible for new project development, existing project management and supervising the design staff as it applies to client relations.

Before joining SSR Ellers, Ledsinger worked for the City of Memphis as a civil design engineer, designing city roadway and drainage structures. Before joining the City of Memphis he was a construction inspector for Construction Materials Lab in Jackson. He earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville and his master’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Memphis.

“Having Ben on our team is a huge advantage as we continue to increase our presence within the traffic and transportation market," said Patrick Smith, SSR transportation division director. "Ben brings a wealth of experience and specific knowledge and skill that augments our existing team perfectly. We are very excited to have him join SSR.”

Abart is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining GIS spatial/attribute components and supporting staff members in GIS and data-integration activities.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in geology from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and his master’s degree in earth sciences from the University of Memphis.

Abart is actively involved in several professional organizations including the Memphis Area Geographic Information Council, American Association of Geographers, Tennessee Geographic Information Council and the National Geographic Society.
