NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Nashville Chapter of the Tennessee Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE) has named Steve Lane, executive vice president of Smith Seckman Reid (SSR), Outstanding Engineer of the Year.
As the highest honor given by the TSPE, the Outstanding Engineer Award is designated for a professional who demonstrates outstanding service and support to their society and profession.
Lane directs a division of SSR that includes the firm’s civil, environmental, sports and entertainment, industrial, commercial, commissioning, transportation and structural engineering services. Lane specializes in water treatment and distribution, wastewater treatment and collection, National Pollutant Discharge Eliminating System permitting, industrial pre-treatment and long-range planning studies. He is a registered professional engineer in 16 states.
Lane serves as a diplomat for the American Academy of Environmental Engineers, and is also a member of the board of directors for ACEC of Tennessee and the Middle Tennessee Ronald McDonald Home. A graduate of the Senior Executive Institute of ACEC, Lane received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a master’s in environmental and water resources engineering from Vanderbilt University.
