HOUSTON – SSR has hired five new employees for the firm’s Houston office.
Hariz Cumurovic is an electrical engineer responsible for the design of lighting systems, emergency power systems and power distribution for healthcare facilities.
Prior to joining SSR, Cumurovic served as electrical engineer and project manager for New Orleans-based Associate Design Group, Inc., where he worked on projects varying from medical centers and universities to hotels and housing developments.
Cumurovic received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Sarajevo in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina and is a registered professional engineer in Louisiana.
Frank Colon is a plumbing designer responsible for plumbing/fire protection design functions from development through construction on healthcare facilities.
Prior to joining SSR, Colon served as plumbing and mechanical HVAC designer for CDi Engineers in Lynwood, Wash., on a number of healthcare entertainment, higher education and commercial projects. He has also worked with Gramlich & Associates, P.A., in Largo, Fla., and has a total 24 years of experience in the engineering industry.
David Roberts is a mechanical designer responsible for CAD layout, design, file maintenance and installation and for updating of architectural backgrounds. Roberts will also be responsible for mechanical equipment schedules, details and HVAC load calculations.
Prior to joining SSR, Roberts served as MEP designer/drafter for Houston-based Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc., where he worked on education, federal and state facilities, central plants, and sports and entertainment projects.
Darren Graves is a communications consultant responsible for structured cabling systems, low voltage communications and systems, and data network design for healthcare and higher education facilities.
Prior to joining SSR, Graves served as technology consultant for Houston-based PBK Engineers, where he managed multi-million dollar technology projects and the design of data networks, intrusion systems, access control, intercom systems and fire alarm/voice evacuation systems.
Graves has 12 years of experience with low voltage communication systems and is certified with Radionics Intrusion Systems. He also holds a certification in digital video recorders with Loronix (Verint) Video Systems.
Marco Menendez is mechanical engineer and responsible for the design of heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems for healthcare facilities.
Prior to joining SSR, Menéndez served as HVAC mechanical design engineer for Houston-based Wylie and Associates. He previously held the same position at EMC Consulting Engineers in El Paso.
Menéndez earned his bachelor degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas in El Paso. He is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers and a registered professional engineer in Texas.
