SSR Hires Senior Electrical Designer for Houston Office and Electrical Engineer-in-Training for Dallas Office

HOUSTON – April 9, 2007 – SSR has hired Willis Collier as senior electrical designer for the firm’s Houston office and Jennifer Whitten as electrical engineer-in-training for the firm’s Dallas office.

Collier is responsible for the design of lighting and power distribution, communication, fire alarm, nurse call, PA, telecommunication and security for healthcare facilities, educational institutions and multi-occupancy facilities.

During his 35-year career, Collier has held the title of senior electrical designer for Houston-based companies Wylie & Associates, Inc., Burr Engineers, Inc. and 3D/International. He is also a past member of the Illuminating Engineering Society.

Collier received his bachelor’s degree in technical engineering from Texas Southern University in Houston.

Whitten is responsible for the design of lighting systems, emergency power systems, & power distribution primarily for healthcare facilities.

Previously, Whitten worked as an electrical engineer for Dallas-based AGUIRREcorporation where she developed construction documents, electrical circuiting, one-line diagrams, lighting design, tele/data and fire protection systems.  She also has served as mechanical engineer for Meinhardt Texas, Inc. and as mechanical designer for Aerotek and Blum Consulting Engineers; all in Dallas.

Whitten received her bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas.
