DENVER – Veteran engineer and industry leader Richard Gordon is retiring from his position of Senior Vice President at Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. (SSR), an engineering design and facility consulting firm headquartered in Nashville, Tenn.
Gordon, who has more than 30 years of mechanical engineering experience, was a founding principal of Gordon, Gumeson and Associates (GGA), which merged with SSR in February 2006.
“Dick has been an invaluable asset not only to this firm, but to the industry,” said Charles Gumeson, co-founding principal of GGA. “His wealth of knowledge about mechanical systems, his great business sense and his leadership are contributing factors to the success of the firm.”
His expertise includes planning, evaluating and designing mechanical building systems for numerous types of facilities. He is a registered professional engineer in nearly a dozen states, and a certified consulting engineer in Colorado.
Gordon concludes his career at SSR as a well-rounded engineer with a long list of contributions to the consulting community. He plans to continue to serve that community by providing business consulting services to engineering and architectural firms. He is an affiliate of the American Council of Engineering Companies of Colorado, American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers, International Conference of Building Officials and National Fire Protection Association.
