SSR Welcomes Jeff Katen and Nabil Atie in Southwest Division Offices

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - SSR has hired Jeffrey S. Katen as mechanical engineer for the firm’s Phoenix office and Nabil Atie as mechanical engineer for the firm’s Houston office.

Katen and Atie are responsible for the engineering design of HVAC, hydronic and steam systems.

Prior to joining SSR, Katen worked for seven years with LSW Engineers Inc. on designs for numerous projects, including industrial, educational, government, commercial and medical facilities.   He is experienced in the application, analysis, design and field installation of most contemporary HVAC systems.

Katen earned his bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering/ mechanical from the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyo.  Katen is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, and the American Society of Plumbing Engineers.

Prior to joining SSR, Atie worked as a mechanical engineer for Ghafari Associates in Dearborn, Mich.  He has also worked for Albert Kahn Associates and EBI Detroit, Inc.  He has more than eight years of experience designing mechanical building service systems.

Atie earned his bachelor’s degree in building engineering from Concordia University in Montreal.  He is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, the American Society of Plumbing Engineers and the Engineering Society of Detroit.
