New Version Makes Compliance Survey and Reporting Process More Efficient
Smith Seckman Reid Inc. (SSR), an engineering design and facility consulting firm, recently released SSR Surveyor™ 2009. This version includes major enhancements to assist healthcare facilities with life safety and regulatory compliance inspections. It streamlines the required survey and reporting process for the facility and compliance staff, and life safety managers.
Microsoft® Gold Certified Partner SSR developed SSR Surveyor™ 2009 with Microsoft® and AutoDesk® technology. The software utilizes a tablet PC, displays a visual image of the facility with drag and drop capabilities, and allows for a seamless upload to The Joint Commission’s Connect site as well as exporting of Excel-compatible work orders.

The software can be used to perform surveys and easily produce standard or custom reports for regulatory compliance:
- The Joint Commission (TJC) Statement of Conditions™(SOC™) and Building Maintenance Programs;
- Environment of Care (EOC) inspections and testing;
- Life Safety Assessments based on the NFPA 101® Life Safety Code® (2000 edition); and
- Custom Inspections such as infection control risk assessments, punch lists, commissioning and facility condition assessments and other inspections to show proactive compliance with the Det Norske Veritas Healthcare accreditation process (DNV NIAHO).
The SSR Compliance and Facilities Management division also provides consulting services to assist hospital facilities prepare for their accreditation surveys.
