SSR'S Huff Recieves Honorable Mention Honors in 2006 Tabbies

7/18/2006

Winston Huff, project manager and plumbing/fire protection designer in SSR's Nashville office, recently received honorable mention honors in the 2006 Trade Association Business Publications International (TABPI) Tabbie Awards.

Huff’s article, “Plumbing Practices on the International Space Station,” originally published in the May/June 2005 issue of Plumbing Systems and Design magazine, was recognized in the feature article category.  In his article, Huff explained how technology used to create self-sustained plumbing systems on the International Space Station can also be used on earth.

Plumbing Systems and Design, the official publication of the American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE), is a primary source of advanced technical information on plumbing and design for plumbing engineers, designers, specifiers, code officials, contractors, manufacturers, master plumbers and other plumbing professionals.

The TABPI Tabbie Awards program is an annual editorial and design competition organized for English language publications around the world, published at least quarterly.  The competition involves 12 editorial categories, ranging from editor's column to best single issue, and six design categories, including opening page or spread and front cover photograph.

Huff is the founding editor of Life Support and Biosphere Science academic journal and has served as its editor-in-chief.  He also is president of Science Interactive, an organization that promotes biosphere science.
