On April 23, 2010, SSR Sarasota hosted the 11th Annual Charity Golf Classic to benefit the non -profit organization, Easter Seals. A full field of 140 golfers and a touch of Florida sunshine made the event a huge success. SSR was able to raise more than $7,000 for charity through numerous sponsors that gave so graciously to the cause. SSR Sarasota has completed the Central Energy Plant at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Sarasota, Florida. The state-of-the-art facility will house 10 megawatts of power generation at 4,160 volts, 8445 tons of chilled water capacity, 10,000 tons of cooling tower capacity and 2250 horsepower steam boiler system. The design incorporates state-of-the-art sound attenuation equipment on all openings of the plant including cooling tower discharge. The SSR design team, Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Architect Gresham Smith and Partners and Skanska Construction Managers, all worked hand in hand with the local neighborhood communities to provide the hospital with the state-of-the-art Central Energy Plant while maintaining peace and tranquility of the surrounding neighborhoods.
