SSR HIRES PROJECT MANAGER
April 2010 – Leighann Bailie was hired as a project manager and mechanical engineer-in-training. In her new position, Bailie will be responsible for design and production of construction documents for heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems for health care facilities, higher education institutions, laboratory facilities, and data centers. Bailie earned her bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Vanderbilt University. She holds certification as a LEED® Accredited Professional.
ASHRAE AWARDS SSR EMPLOYEE CERTIFICATION FOR HIGH-PERFORMANCE BUILDING DESIGN
Carl Crow, vice president with SSR, an engineering design and facility consulting firm, recently earned his high-performance building design professional certification from the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
ASHRAE’s certification program identifies individuals who have demonstrated they have the necessary training and tools for the design of high-performance buildings according to their performance capability.
The content of the exam includes sustainability concepts related to HVAC, sustainable processes, environmental improvement programs and rating systems; energy analysis; indoor environment; controls and monitoring; benchmarking with performance metrics; water conservation, commissioning in sustainable construction; and operation and maintenance of high-performance buildings.
A registered professional engineer in 11 states, including Texas, Oklahoma and Wisconsin, Crow is responsible for the management and direction of the education, science and technology design team in SSR’s Houston office.
SMITH SECKMAN REID ANNOUNCES NEW VICE PRESIDENT IN ITS HOUSTON OFFICE
SSR recently promoted Aric Murray to vice president in the firm’s Houston office.
In his new position, Murray will be responsible for the overall management of a multi-discipline design team that includes project managers, engineers and engineering technicians.
Murray earned his bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering from the University of Wyoming. He is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers and the University of Wyoming Alumni Association. He also holds certification as a LEED® Accredited Professional.
