Airport Authority to Construct $10.4M Geothermal Cooling System

The Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority recently broke ground on a $10.4 million geothermal cooling system which is expected to be completed next summer. The new cooling system, one of the largest geothermal lake plate cooling systems in North America, is expected to save the Airport Authority more than $430,000 in utility payments annually. Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. collaborated with two other firms on the design of the system.
