SSR Receives ACECTN Honors Award for Work on Alcoa’s Overlook Reservoirs

NASHVILLE, TN – May 28, 2013 – Eric Sheffer, LEED AP BD+C, a Principal at Smith Seckman Reid, Inc (SSR), has been appointed to the U.S. Green Building Council’s Middle Tennessee Chapter Board.

Sheffer, who oversees SSR’s Sustainability Consulting team, manages LEED certified projects and LEED feasibility studies in the LEED for New Construction, LEED for Healthcare, LEED for Commercial Interiors, and LEED for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance™ rating systems. His expertise lies in collaborating with the various disciplines of a project team to achieve both the sustainability goals and a high quality and environmentally sound building within the project’s design, operational, and cost considerations.

In addition to his new role with the USGBC Middle Tennessee Chapter, Sheffer serves on the United Nations Sustainable Building Climate Initiative’s Technical Advisory Committee for Water Conservation and is an adjunct lecturer on CE 298- Building Systems and LEED® for Vanderbilt University’s Graduate School.
