Risk Assessment and Hazard Analysis
SSR offers Risk Assessment and Hazard Analysis to identify tasks and hazards, and to estimate, evaluate, reduce and document the risks associated with these hazards under the various conditions of use of that machine or system. The steps in the procedure to arrive at tolerable risk are:
- Gather the appropriate information on the machine or system
- Determine the limits of the machine
- Identify and document the hazards associated with the task to be performed
- Analyze the risks for severity of harm and the probability of occurrence
- Evaluate the risk to determine whether or not it is tolerable
Safety Engineering Design
If a machine safety risk has been determined to be intolerable, we can design electrical and/or mechanical solutions to help minimize the risk. We use the latest technology and industrial safety devices to customize a cost effective solution to help clients meet OSHA Machine Guarding regulations and to improve employee safety. Typical safety solutions can include, but are not limited to, the following types of devices:
- Fixed Machine Guards and Barriers
- Safety Relays and/or Safety PLCs
- Interlock Switches
- Light Curtains
- Stops and Cable Pulls
- Floor Mats and Edges
- Two-Hand Controls
- Safety Laser Scanners
Services Include:
