The Clinical Workflow & Technology Integration Summit

This educational event is being offered to healthcare professionals to address the growing complexity of technology, equipment and devices involved in patient care delivery.  Technology is intended to be a tool to help clinicians, but can also be a frustrating hindrance if not thoughtfully planned and strategically aligned.

The involvement and collaboration between Clinicians, IT, Biomed and Vendors has never been more relevant and applicable. Working together strategically with a shared vision can effectively provide a seamless clinical workflow, maximize technology investments and ultimately improve patient care delivery and outcomes. Developing a strategic integrated clinical and IT roadmap is a critical component of today's healthcare environment.

Registration is FREE, but you must be registered to attend. Please follow the above registration link to get registered today.

Recap of the Healthcare Technology Summit at Johns Hopkins: Emerging Technologies and the Future of Healthcare

Our October 2012 Summit was a great day of information sharing and networking. Thank you to our speakers, sponsors, attendees and vendors for your contributions.

We've uploaded videos of the expert panel session and followup interviews to our YouTube channel. Feel free to share with others:

From our speakers:

“I found the day very useful and particularly enjoyed the interaction with design and construction firms, hospital planners, hospital staff and a variety of vendors that provide hospital equipment.  Perhaps the most beneficial outcome related to these types of sessions is building relationships with others who have similar needs or new and different ideas that are worth exploration.”
– Mike McCarty, Senior Director and Chief Network Officer, Johns Hopkins University and Johns Hopkins Health System

“The summit brought together a broad cross-section of stakeholders, providing a fascinating and comprehensive discussion of many critical issues.  Having so many perspectives represented was invaluable. ”
– Harry Greenspun, MD, Senior Advisor, Healthcare Transformation & Technology, Deloitte Center for Health Solutions

“Our healthcare delivery system needs to bring patients the right care, at the right place, at the right time. It was a pleasure to discuss with individuals responsible for designing, building and maintaining our nation’s healthcare infrastructure the challenges and opportunities for reaching this goal.”
– Kerry McDermott, West Health

From a vendor:

“Great speakers with lots of practical experience in a variety of disciplines. Very informative.”
– Gregg Kelley, National Sales Manager, Lynx Broadband

From our attendees:

“The SSR/Johns Hopkins Health Care Technology Summit was truly transformational in delivering informative, novel and relevant information articulating the future of technological innovation in healthcare.  I would recommend this content not only to technologists but to clinicians as well.”
– Kenneth A. Freeman, MD, Attorney at Law, The Legislative Alliances Group

“As we know that the present and future design and construction of  healthcare facilities is a complex puzzle of space, systems, equipment and technology, I found the Technology Summit panel of professionals’ comments, thoughts and interaction with attendees thought provoking and stimulating.  Future development and integration of IT technology into healthcare facilities resides with everyone’s interests and needs as we all learn, grow and live together.”
– Alan Ernst, Senior Associate and Senior Project Manager, Perkins+Will.

“It was a great opportunity to hear how SSR and others are navigating the complex work of technology advancement, equipment requirements and the diverse vendor products on the market. IT/data technology and the regulatory environment are the backbone of the future of healthcare and of our ‘smart’ buildings, and it was helpful to understand and hear the diverse viewpoints that your panel and presenters brought to the conversation.”
– Richard Moon, Associate Principal, TSOI / Kobus & Associates Architects

“I truly loved the format of the event. The panelists were excellent, and the opportunity to hear each of them comment and interject their own thoughts on topics was wonderful. I would certainly recommend everyone in our business attend these types of events in the future. I hope to be invited to the next SSR Tech Summit.”
– Matt Odell, Clark Construction

“The level of discourse at the Healthcare Technology Summit was superb – hearing the panel’s interweaving experiences in healthcare IT, patient care, architecture, construction, analytics, mobile technology, and policy underscored just how rapidly healthcare delivery is evolving and integrating. As an architect, the summit motivated me to continue research and development of our own practice in this area.”
– Gregory S. Knoop, AIA, LEED AP, President, Oudens Knoop Knoop + Sachs Architects.

“The Healthcare Technology Summit offered a unique and excellent opportunity to have open discourse regarding the challenges of developing technology in the healthcare industry. The panel was engaging and thoughtful in framing the challenge from varied perspectives in and around the industry. A well organized, information-packed conference.”
– Lee H. Barton, Senior Consultant, KLMK Group, Inc.
