Tampa Panelists Include:
JOYCE SENSMEIER, MS, RN-BC, CPHIMS, FHIMSS is Vice President of Informatics for the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). She oversees clinical informatics, standards, interoperability, privacy and security, and professional certification. Ms. Sensmeier joined HIMSS as the Director of Professional Services in December 2000. She became Board Certified in Nursing Informatics in 1996, earned the Certified Professional in Health Information and Management Systems in 2002, and achieved fellowship status in HIMSS in 2005.
ALFRED GOLDBERG is the president of North American operations for Absolute Mobile Solutions. He has been an independent technology voice since 1994. His passion is helping visionary companies develop effective mobile strategies. Over the years, Alfred's business and IT background led to his involvement with innovative mobile technology companies and their customers in over a dozen countries. He is a dynamic and articulate technologist that utilizes his broad knowledge to effectively communicate the most complex solutions in a clear, direct way that customers embrace and utilize. Mr. Goldberg has recently designed a curriculum to teach mobile design and development to students at the International Academy of Design and Technology Online (IADTO), one of the first such curriculums in the country.
DENIS BAKER Denis’s 25-year health care IT career includes various IT positions around the country, most recently serving as the Chief Information Officer for Sarasota Memorial Health Care System for eleven years. Prior to that he worked in the lab as a medical technologist, where he was introduced to computers. His education includes a BS in biology and an MS in information systems. He enjoys long walks on the beach, quiet times with loved ones and unicorns. His hobbies include particle physics, industrial anthropology and bean bag competitions.
DR. RICHARD OEHLER, MD, Richard L. Oehler, MD, is an Associate Professor with the Division of Infectious Diseases and International Medicine at the University Of South Florida College of Medicine (USFCOM). He served as an attending in infectious diseases at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital as well as at the Moffitt Cancer Center, Tampa General Hospital, Shriner's Hospital, and Kindred Hospital, all in Tampa. As Director of Clinical Education, he has led the USF ID division’s efforts to extend its educational mission on a national and international scale. IDPodcasts.net, created by Dr. Oehler in 2007, was the first infectious disease educational resource of its kind to provide free online learning to a medical audience. Now approaching its fifth year, ID Podcasts continued to receive thousands of hits per year from more than 27 countries. The educational site has extended its online reach to the development of apps for Apple and Android smart phones and tablet computers. He is considered a national authority on the use of smartphones in medicine and has co-authored several publications on this topic.
SCOTT JOHNSON, PE, is an electrical engineer with 23 years of experience in the design and construction industry, providing design and consulting services in electrical and communications systems. He is currently National Practice Leader, Technology Group at Smith, Seckman, Reid, Inc. Mr. Johnson and his team at SSR have provided comprehensive technology planning services for the healthcare industry, serving a wide spectrum of facilities nationwide including academic teaching institutions and regional/community providers.
BILL BUNDY serves as Senior Director, Hospital Infrastructure, with the
West Wireless Health Institute based in La Jolla, California. Mr. Bundy has
extensive experience in the low voltage construction industry. In 1994 he
was named president of Security Electronics, Inc. (SEi), a security system
integrator and service provider. SEi developed expertise in design and
installation of integrated security management and video surveillance
systems, communications systems, as well as parking control and nurse call systems. In 2006 Security Electronics was sold to Stansell Electric Company, a multi-disciplined electrical contractor and systems integrator. Since joining West Wireless in May 2011, Mr. Bundy has worked on development of the reference architecture for Medical Grade Wireless Utility, a platform for wireless health in the hospital environment. The West Wireless Health Institute is an independently funded, nonprofit medical research organization focused on lowering health care costs through technology and innovation.
DANA VON ALLMEN For twenty years Dana has provided strategic
technology management, as well as technology design and integration
support on a wide range of information technology projects in the
healthcare, public and private industries. As a Technology Consultant and
President of VonAllmen Consulting, Inc., she has worked with many of the
leading hospital systems in the western U.S. to provide a strategic and
technical alliance between A&E design teams and her clients, delivering
effective and efficient technology solutions within the healthcare industry.
