Ben Shepard Joins SSRCx
SSRCx, the facilities commissioning and sustainability consulting branch of Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. (SSR), has hired Ben Shepard, PE, CEM, CMVP, CDSMP, as a Continuous Commissioning® Project Manger in the Nashville office.
“We are excited to have Ben joining our staff,” said Steve Harrell, CEM, CxA, a Principal with SSRCx and Continuous Commissioning® Manager. “He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team and will be an asset in serving our clients.”
Shepard comes to SSRCx with five years of experience with energy savings programs. He’s been involved in efficiency retrofit projects, retro-commissioning projects, and ASHRAE Level I & II audits for commercial, educational, and healthcare facilities. Shepard is also experienced in calculating energy savings opportunities and the associated financial implications.
Shepard graduated with honors and a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN. He earned a Masters of Engineering Management with a concentration in energy and environment from Duke University in Durham, NC. Shepard is a registered engineer in the state of Tennessee, as well as a Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP), Certified Demand Side Management Professional (CDSMP), and LEED Green Associate.
