Plumbing / Fire Protection EIT Joins Nashville Staff


Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. (SSR) a leader among engineering firms in designing, consulting, and commissioning projects has hired Samuel (Sam) Luna, EIT, as an addition to the Plumbing/Fire Protection design group  in the firm’s Nashville office.

“We are excited to have Sam join our design group,” said Mike Griffin, Plumbing and Fire Protection Discipline Manager. “He is very personable, has a great attitude and is eager to start to working in our field of design. He also brings new talent and that will start the foundation for the next generation of our designers.”

A recent college graduate, Luna earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Mississippi State University (MSU). He worked as a co-op student for Memphis Light, Gas, and Water in during three terms. While he worked in their Residential Engineering Department, Luna assisted with the design of city water supply, natural gas, and electrical services to residential developments. As a co-op in the Natural Gas Distribution and Water Distribution Engineering Departments he was responsible for the design of system improvements to the city’s distribution systems. While in school, Luna was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon social fraternity, and was also the recipient of the Joseph Barrier Scholarship.
