Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. (SSR) a leader among engineering firms in designing, consulting, and commissioning projects announces the hiring of Ari Fleitman, PE, LEED AP, and Gregory Jeffus, EI, in the firms MEPT program. Fleitman joins as a Principal and Senior Mechanical Engineer; Jeffus as a Mechanical EI.

“We are extremely excited to have Ari join us here in our Houston office,” said from Kevin Wolfford, Senior Principal for SSR. “Ari brings a level of quality experience which is an extremely rare find in the industry. Having successfully operated his own MEP firm for more than 28 years, he brings a business acumen to SSR that will strategically help in the growth of our firm. We are fortunate to have him on board and look forward to getting him engaged with the firm and our clients.

Fleitman, a 32 year industry veteran, recently served as Managing Principal for another Houston based engineering firm. He has acted as Principal Project Engineer, Project Manager, Chief Design Engineer, and Construction Manager on more than 500 commercial, healthcare, and industrial projects. Fleitman has been involved in numerous continuing education and technical engineering seminars as speaker or facilitator, author of a number of technical articles for journals and for social publication, and has served as Technical Vice President for the Houston Chapter of American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE).

Fleitman received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, and is a graduate of The Management Program at Rice University’s Jones Business School. He is a Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas, LEED AP, and Project Management Professional (PMP).

A recent college graduate, Jeffus earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lamar University. After graduation, he worked as a graduate engineer, gaining experience in designing energy-efficient HVAC systems and developing energy models. Jeffus is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and an Eagle Scout.

“Greg is a very talented young engineer with a contagious can-do attitude,” said Wolfford.  “We are excited to have him join us in Houston and look forward to getting him engaged on some of our challenging projects. He has solid experience already under his belt and we look forward to his rapid growth with SSR.”
