Smith Seckman Reid Denver Office Grows by Two

DENVER – September 26, 2012 – Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. (SSR), a Nashville-based
engineering design and facilities consulting firm, has expanded its Denver office by hiring George
Verstraete, PE, LEED BD+C, CEM, and relocating Don Reaville, PE.
Verstraete joins SSR as electrical engineer and project manager. He has over 20 years of
experience in the project management, design and engineering of electrical systems in private, commercial,
military and public projects. He has experience working on high performance design projects including
multiple Net Zero and renewable energy projects. Other project experience includes work for federal
government agencies, universities, correctional facilities and hotels. He was previously employed at Merrick
and Company.

Verstraete received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Colorado School of Mines. He is a
registered Professional Engineer in Colorado, Maryland and Texas. He is a Certified Energy Manager and
holds memberships in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the National Fire Protection
Association and the Association of Energy Engineers.
Reaville is a senior mechanical engineer and project manager who has been with SSR for 18
years, previously in the Nashville office. His expertise includes the design of heating, ventilation and air
conditioning systems for institutional, industrial and commercial facilities. Reaville holds a Bachelor of
Science Degree from Florida State University and is a member of the American Society of Heating
Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers.
