SSR Hires Two in Nashville Office


NASHVILLE, Tenn. – September 24, 2012 – Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. (SSR), a Nashville-based engineering design and facilities consulting firm, has hired Kevin W. Hampel, PE, and Marshall Fall in its Nashville office.

Hampel joins the firm as a structural engineer and has experience in the design of a variety of structural systems on numerous projects types, including convention centers, educational and office buildings, laboratories and multi-use facilities. He has been responsible for all project phases, from proposal writing and initial analysis through the final construction phase, including specification writing and shop drawing review. Hampel is a registered engineer in Illinois and Tennessee. He previously worked for Structural Design Group in Nashville.

Hampel received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a Master of Science in Engineering in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a member of the American Concrete Institute, the American Institute of Steel Construction and the Structural Engineers Association of Tennessee.

Fall joins SSR as an engineer intern and is a recent graduate of Tennessee Technological University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. While in school, he gained experience preparing construction plans for wastewater treatment facilities and effluent collection systems. He has experience in stormwater compliance, including preparation of permit applications, oversight of construction and maintenance of structures. Fall was previously employed as a project manager for Adenus Wastewater Solutions in Smyrna.
