SSR Houston Office Grows by Two

Packer joins firm as Electrical Engineer/Project Manager; Toland as Administrative Assistant

Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. (SSR) a leader among engineering firms in designing, consulting, and commissioning projects has hired two new employees in the firm’s Houston office. Thomas Packer, PE, joins the team as an Electrical Engineer and Project Manager. Nicole Toland will serve as a Building Solutions Program Administrative Assistant.

Packer is a six year industry veteran having previously worked as an electrical engineer for another firm in the Houston area. He is experienced with electrical design, LEED® projects, and construction administration. Packer’s project experience covers a variety of markets, including healthcare and educational facilities.

“We are very excited to have Thomas join us here in Houston,” said Kevin Wolfford, Regional Operations Director. “He brings a solid background in healthcare design as well as many other markets. Thomas will provide tremendous depth for our electrical engineering staff as well as provide support for our project management staff. He is a rare find these day and we are fortunate to have him on board.”

Packer is a graduate of the University of Houston where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He graduated Magna Cum Laude.

Toland joins the office as an administrative assistant with strong organizational, technical, and analytical skills. She is experienced coordinating office tasks, including preparing agendas, generating reports, and maintaining budgets.

“Nicole brings a wealth of experience to our administrative staff,” said Wolfford. “She has an enthusiasm that is contagious and skills that will prove to be invaluable in helping our staff to better serve our clients on a daily basis.”
