Structural EI Expands SSR’s Horizontal Program in Memphis


Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. (SSR) a leader among engineering firms in designing and consulting firm, has hired Lauren Harrett, EI, to work in the firm’s expanding Horizontal Program in Memphis.

“We are very excited to have Lauren on board with us full time after interning with our team during the spring semester,” said Ian Engstrom, Senior Project Manager. “She did a great job with everything that we gave her. Lauren’s focus will be our structural work, but we expect that she will contribute to our team across all of our civil service lines. It is energizing to add a person like Lauren who has such an outstanding personal drive and is fully engaged in the community.”

Harrett is a recent graduate of Christian Brothers University (CBU) in Memphis, TN, where she earned a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering. She held an internship with Toyota Motor and Manufacturing Kentucky in their Facility Engineering/Projects and Building Services department and Toyota Engineering and Manufacturing of North America in the Plan Engineering/Plant and Building Planning department. Harrett was extremely involved during her time at CBU, serving as the President and Conference Chair of American Society of Civil Engineers, Historian and Ambassador of Society of Women Engineers. She was also a varsity athlete in golf and tennis, as well as a member of the Honors Program.
