SSR’s CEI Services Evolves into Construction Management Solutions

As project delivery continues to evolve across the industry, our team’s role in providing Construction Engineering and Inspections (CEI) services has expanded far beyond traditional field inspection. Agencies such as TDOT, FDOT, ARDOT, and many of our municipal partners are increasingly turning to alternative delivery methods—including Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build, and CM/GC. These approaches bring our team into projects much earlier, leveraging our construction expertise during planning, design, and pre-construction phases. Our work on TDOT’s Kings’ Crossing Bridge exemplifies this shift, where we’re providing full construction management support throughout design, procurement, and construction. Similar contributions on projects like I‑440, MemFix 4, and others have shown that “CEI” no longer reflected the breadth of value we deliver. 

Construction Management Solutions (CMS) reflects a more holistic, integrated, and collaborative approach to project delivery. While we remain fully committed to providing the high-quality inspection services our clients know us for, our capabilities now span the entire project lifecycle—from early design involvement, scheduling, and constructability reviews to risk management, procurement support, stakeholder coordination, and field execution. Our team continues to support traditional Design-Bid-Build projects such as I‑40/240 and Lamar Avenue Phase 2, while also expanding our role in municipal programs in Clarksville, Millington, and beyond. This evolved service offering signals our continued commitment to meeting clients where they are, adapting to emerging delivery models, and ensuring project success with comprehensive construction leadership at every stage.
