The City of Bartlett is widening a 2.3-mile section of Old Brownsville Road beginning near SR-14 (Austin Peay Highway) and extending to just east of Kirby-Whitten Road. Currently, this corridor is a two-lane urban facility that is overburdened with traffic and congestion. In addition, there are geometric deficiencies that will not allow for higher design speeds or increased traffic volumes that are presently there. The boulevard type roadway section will consist of four 12-foot traffic lanes, raised medians, bike lanes, curb and gutter, and sidewalks. SSR is providing construction engineering and inspection services for this TDOT locally managed project.
