River Park Austin, Block 14
SSR has been engaged by Hines and Presidium to provide sustainability services to Block 14 of River Park, a portion of a massive mixed-use campus in Austin, Texas. Stretching over 110 acres, the complete master plan calls for 10 million SF of developed residential, office, retail, and hospitality space. The campus will also feature many open spaces, parks, and civic amenities. The entire redevelopment is planned to take between 10-20 years to complete.
SSR’s involvement in Block 14 includes sustainability consulting for two speculative office towers and a shared parking garage. Tower A is planned to be 249,000 SF and eight levels while tower B is planned to be 184,000 SF and six levels. Both are seeking LEED Silver and WELL certification and SSR is helping to guide each of these certification processes. Our scope of work also includes a life cycle assessment (LCA) and daylight analysis. The LCA study for the towers was conducted early in design to help the design team make informed decisions about the project’s carbon impact. The two towers are still in design and have a tentative completion of 2024 and 2025.
