Rochester General Hospital Sands-Constellation Center for Critical Care
Rochester, New York
Rochester General, the flagship facility among the five hospitals in Rochester Regional Health, is expanding with the addition of the new, 312,000 SF, seven-story Sands-Constellation Center for Critical Care. The Center will expand and enhance the services currently offered and will include a state-of-the-art perioperative platform with 20 operating rooms. The Center will also include 108 private acuity-adaptable patient rooms, a special care nursery, new labor and delivery rooms, private post-partum beds, and other support services.
SSR has been contracted to provide equipment planning, asset management, and procurement services for the new Center. In planning for the project, collaboration meetings with clinical users were necessary to identify which pieces of medical equipment were being relocated to the new Center, and what needed to remain in the main hospital. From there, our team quickly and accurately recognized the condition, accessories required for, and usable life of the equipment. All information was entered into Equipment Solution Planning (ESP), a proprietary web-based software planning tool, to provide real-time equipment data and information to the Rochester team and other project team members. This resulted in savings to the project’s medical equipment budget.
