Tennessee State Museum

Nashville, Tennessee

The new Tennessee State Museum (TSM) was designed as a 100-year building, and incorporates high-quality, high-performance materials and systems throughout to preserve and display historical artifacts and treasures that dynamically demonstrate the history of the state. SSR was able to supply many of the specialized resources the state needed to address the project’s challenges by helping to assess the quality and performance of building systems from design through the first few years of operation. SSR’s comprehensive services included mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems commissioning, Monitoring Based Commissioning (MBCx), Fault Detection and Diagnostics (FDD), and Building Enclosure Commissioning (BECx). Our BECx scope of work included:

  • Design reviews
  • Test plans and specifications
  • Submittal reviews
  • Field observations
  • Air and water test verification
  • Master issues list tracking
  • Roof consulting
