The Chase Center
San Francisco, California
SSR was selected to provide MEP design and LEED facilitation services for the Chase Center Development, the new home of the Golden State Warriors. This state-of-the-art 18,000- seat arena will sit on the Bay just to the south of the Bay Bridge. It is planned to be completed in time for the start of the 2019-2020 season. The arena will also host concerts, family shows, conferences, and various other events. Also located on the site are two, ten story mixed-use office buildings and a large public plaza.
The Chase Center showcases our team’s ability to manage MEP design and consulting on a multi-building, multi-phase project with a joint-venture partner. This project has a team of over fifty consultants, requiring very tightly managed communication and project management from our team.
To successfully accomplish the project scope, SSR partnered with two small business firms in San Francisco. This allowed our team to receive support on the local codes and standards required in San Francisco, while also serving as our on-site presence during construction.
The GSW arena originally began its design phase in March 2014. Including a change in location and programming for the project, the project was completed in September 2019.
Our scope of work also included LEED Consulting and energy modeling for the three buildings on site, each assisting in the facility’s LEED Gold certification.
