Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. (SSR) a leader among engineering firms in designing, consulting, and commissioning projects is pleased to announce our conference and tradeshow schedule around the country during the month of November.

SSRCx will be exhibiting at the annual Design Build Institute of America’s (DBIA) Conference and Expo in Denver, CO, November 2-4. Join Ted Foster, PE, PSP, CxA, Mike Preece, PE, CxA, PSP, and Jeff Mandrell at the only industry event that provides a platform for experienced, knowledgeable, and well-spoken industry experts to highlight key aspects of design-build project delivery including best practices, lessons learned, noted challenges, and/or emerging trends. Between sessions and networking, come by booth #428 to hear about all the exciting things we have going in.

The Tennessee Chapter of the American Public Works Association (TCAPWA) will host their annual conference in Chattanooga, TN, November 3-5. Join various members of SSR’s Infrastructure group as they learn about the latest industry news from the people, agencies, and organizations that plan, build, maintain, and improve our communities. SSR will be an exhibitor so be sure to come touch base with our engineers.

The South Carolina Society of Hospital Engineers Fall Conference will be in Columbia, SC, November 4-6 this year. The conference topic –Benchmarking – will focus on the collective in an effort to help individually. Engineers will take away a better understanding of how their peers operate, and in turn, help maximize their unique organization and maintenance operations. Chad Miller, PE, LEED AP, will be in attendance, look for him at our booth to hear about some innovative projects SSR is involved in.

The annual Midwest Healthcare Engineering Conference and Tradeshow will again take place in Indianapolis, IN, November 11-13. This year’s three-day conference, themed Positioning for Change, will provide you with the most up-to-date information from the best leaders in the industry, including two sessions with SSR. Clay Seckman, PE, will be presenting with David Rosenbaum of Methodist Healthcare, Greg Gore of Gresham Smith and Partners, and Turner Construction Company’s Andy Davis on November 11th at 1:30 PM. Their session “Essence and Evolution of IPD: Integrated Decision Making,” will help attendees gain further awareness of how the evolving integrated approach can yield tremendous advantages in an industry being rebuilt from the inside out. On November 13th, David Stymiest PE, CHFM, FASHE, GBE will present on “Alternate Equipment Management Program Compliance” at 11:15 AM as part of a general session. Stop by booth #400 to hear about the latest from SSR and SSRCx.

The Mississippi Hospital Association will have their annual Healthcare Engineers and Facility Managers Conference November 13th in Madison, MS. The conference will cover the importance of proper barrier management, fire and building code requirements, why barriers fail, how fire/smoke barriers can work with different emergency scenarios, and how barrier management should be incorporated into your emergency plans. SSR will be an exhibitor so be sure to come touch base with our engineers.

Members of SSR’s technology group will be speaking and exhibiting (booth #311) at the Healthcare Design Conference in Washington, DC, November 14-17. The Healthcare Design Expo & Conference is the premier event devoted to how the design of responsibly built environments directly impacts the safety, operation, clinical outcomes, and financial success of healthcare facilities now and into the future. John Alsentzer, PE, and members of the Clinical Consulting group will be presenting on “Effective Biocontainment Unit Design in the Age of Ebola” on November 14th at 1:40 PM.

The annual Greenbuild International Conference and Expo will take place in Washington, DC, November 18-20. Thousands of building professionals from all over the world will come together for three days of outstanding educational sessions, renowned speakers, special seminars, and networking opportunities. Be sure to stop by booth #1840 to visit with Eric Sheffer, LEED AP BD+C, and Lindsey Mazurski, LEED AP BD+C, LEED AP ID+C and hear about some of SSR’s sustainability initiatives.
