|

Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. (SSR), a leader among engineering firms in designing, consulting, and commissioning projects, is pleased to announce that Greg Swafford has joined the firm as a Principal in the Dallas office. He will provide client and project leadership for a variety of sports & entertainment projects.

“We are excited to add Greg to our growing Dallas – Fort Worth presence,” said Scott Terry, Principal. “Greg gives us the opportunity to strengthen our growing sports & entertainment market presence with his leadership and technical experience, while also continuing to diversify the markets we serve as part of DFW.  He will be a great addition to our clients, colleagues, and projects across the country.”

Throughout Greg’s 20-year plus career, his focus has been on the sports & entertainment market, serving in different business development, project, and client management roles. He was involved in The Ford Center at The Star, located in Frisco, TX, a 560,000 SF training facility and headquarters for the Dallas Cowboys; SoFi Stadium, the three million square foot home to the Los Angeles Rams and Chargers in Inglewood, CA; and Sloan Park in Mesa, AZ, the Chicago Cubs spring training facility.

“The majority of my career has been working at different consulting firms, but after spending a few years in manufacturing, returning to MEP engineering was never really a consideration,” states Swafford. “However, SSR’s history of success, their impassioned leaders, and vision for the future was a strong attraction. I am excited to partner with the sports industry experts to deliver world-class venues for our clients and communities. I fully expect SSR’s sports & entertainment group to continue its winning ways, and I can’t wait to contribute to that next level of success.”

Greg was the Regional 5 Affiliate Liaison and previous Dallas/Fort Worth board member of the American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE); committee member of the ASHRAE SPC 514 (Risk Management for Building Water Systems: Physical, Chemical and Microbial Hazards); and vice chairman of the ASPE Working Group 99 Thermal Disinfection Standard. He holds certifications in Plumbing Design, Green Plumbing Design, and Legionella Water Safety and Management Specialist. Greg graduated from Central Bible College.
