In our 55th year of operations focused on innovation, growth, enhanced collaboration with industry partners, and exceptional customer interaction and satisfaction, Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. (SSR) is pleased to announce that Joe Griffey, PE, has rejoined the firm as a Technical Leader for the Civil / Water team in Nashville.

“We are excited to welcome Joe back to our group,” said Andrew Johnson, Principal and Civil Operations Director. “As a Technical Leader, Joe will place significant focus on the development of our younger talent. This attention will accelerate their individual careers at SSR and elevate SSR’s ability to serve our clients more efficiently and with advanced service offerings.”

With nearly 20 years working on complex water/reuse projects, Joe will serve as an internal resource to our technical staff. He’ll be involved in numerous projects at a high level, providing value and expertise to clients while assisting our project managers. Joe will also be focused on developing the younger staff of EITs and designers, serving as a mentor to help guide them, answer questions, and expose them to a variety of projects.

Additionally, Joe has a passion for innovation and is excited about the opportunity to be a dedicated resource evolving SSR’s use of technology in infrastructure projects. He’s looking at ways to leverage technology to inform design decisions, manage assets, and provide better deliverables to our clients.

“Rejoining SSR has been about the opportunity,” stated Joe. “We all want to feel like our greatest strengths are being utilized in meaningful ways to create positive outcomes, and that’s what I felt returning offered me. I’m excited to have the opportunity to help our Civil/Water group, and the company, grow in new and innovative ways, as well as support the bright and energetic group of young engineers that are the future of our industry.”
