Pat Priest Joins Board as Independent Director

|

Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. (SSR), a leader among engineering firms in designing, consulting, and commissioning projects, is pleased to announce the appointment of Pat Priest to the SSR Board of Directors. Her previous Architecture/Engineering/Construction (AEC) industry exposure and Dallas-area connections will be an asset to SSR, in addition to the knowledge and experience she will bring to the firm. Priest will serve as the Audit Committee chair and assist other committees.

“I’m pleased and excited to welcome Pat Priest as our newest independent director,” stated Steve Lane, PE, BECC, FACEC, President and CEO. “She brings extensive knowledge and very broad experience to the execution of the built environment. SSR is fortunate to attract a person of Pat’s caliber to our Board.”

Based in Dallas, Priest has extensive leadership experience on Boards of Directors as well as C-Suite executive positions. As a sought-after advisor, she is currently on the Board of the Dallas Entrepreneur Center and the North Texas Chapter of National Association of Corporate Directors as well as advisory roles with BBVA Bank, The University of Texas McCombs School of Business, and AXXESS, a technology company focused on health care in the home. She has recently retired from her roles as the Chairman of the Board of the Trinity River Corridor Limited Government Corporation, a public-private partnership responsible for the development and operation of recreational activities in the Dallas Floodway, and as a member of the Board of Directors, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Financial Officer of the Dallas Regional Chamber. Priest has also served as board member for Dave and Busters, Inc., chairing the Audit Committee, and The Beck Group, an architecture and construction firm headquartered in Dallas.

“In SSR, I have found a company with a strong culture and commitment to quality and service to clients, colleagues, and communities,” said Priest. “I am very much looking forward to helping to guide the future growth and success of the organization.”

SSR’s Board of Directors is comprised of five Internal Directors and four Independent Directors. The Independent Directors are from the AEC, manufacturing, telecommunications, and business communities. It is the Board’s responsibility to provide counsel and guidance in the direction and operation of SSR. Board members include Rob Barrick (Chairman), Steve Lane, Susan Osterberg, Tim Priddy, Jon Ross, Marty Dickens, David Gaboury, and Joel Rood. Each Board member is elected annually by the firm’s Trustee on behalf of the firm’s ESOP shareholders.

Priest is replacing Bruce Sullivan who has retired after 16 years of service. Sullivan made numerous contributions to the Board during his tenure. His skills and abilities helped SSR create strong financial and audit controls for our company.
