Progress on Old Brownsville Road

The City of Bartlett, Tennessee, is widening a two-mile section of Old Brownsville Road in an area of town that has seen growth over the past decade. The existing two-lane urban facility overburdened with traffic and congestion is a vital link connecting two major north/south corridors on either end. The route is scattered with neighborhoods, churches, a fire station, and a school.

Now in construction, SSR is providing CEI services for the project. Using a phased approach to construction, SSR has worked closely with the City and other project partners to keep residents and the larger community informed of any closures and updates to the project.

Once complete in 2023, Old Brownsville Road will be a boulevard-type roadway with two lanes of traffic in each direction, raised medians, bike lanes, and wide sidewalks.  The improvements will tackle the capacity, design speed, and increased traffic volume issues currently present.
