SSR Announces Board Changes

|

Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. (SSR) is pleased to announce changes to its Board of Directors. CEO and President Steve Lane, PE, BCEE, FACEC, was elected Chair of the Board upon the retirement of Rob Barrick, PE, LEED AP, CEM, GBE, who has been elected to the honorary role of Chair Emeritus. In addition, David Gaboury, PE, was elected to the role of Lead Director, and Mike Rogers, PE, LEED AP, was appointed to the board.

“I have been honored to serve among SSR’s distinguished board members,” said Lane, “and even more so now to serve as Chair. This group has long represented some of the best minds from different market sectors helping to improvement the built environment — people who share our firm’s core values, customer focus, and commitment to building a sustainable, successful future. These board changes continue that enduring tradition for our firm,” he emphasized.

Steve Lane has been with SSR for more than 43 years, serving in a variety of leadership positions. He assumed his role as Chief Executive Officer and President in 2018. Since, the firm has expanded into Atlanta and Charlotte markets, acquired a medical equipment planning firm, demonstrated excellent financial results and is currently executing its growth-oriented strategic plan.

David Gaboury is Terracon’s Chair Emeritus and former Chairman of the Board and CEO. He is a licensed professional engineer with more than 30 years of experience in environmental, geo-environmental and water resource engineering. Gaboury joined SSR’s board in 2012. As lead director, he will be responsible for coordinating the activities of the external directors and providing a focal point for the work and functions of these independent directors.

Mike Rogers is SSR’s Chief Growth Officer (CGO), a role he assumed earlier this year. Prior to this role, Rogers served as Sports and Entertainment Market Leader for 18 years and was instrumental in establishing SSR as one of the top engineering firms in this space. Under Rogers’ direction, SSR has designed numerous high-profile sports facilities, including the recently completed Allegiant Stadium that is home to the NFL Las Vegas Raiders and the Chase Center, home to the NBA Golden State Warriors. SSR was ranked 9th in Building Design + Construction’s 2020 Giants report for Sports Facilities Sector Engineering firms.

SSR’s board of directors is comprised of five internal directors and four independent directors. The independent directors are from the AEC, manufacturing, telecommunications and business communities. The board provides counsel and guidance in the direction and operation of SSR. Board members include Steve Lane, Susan Osterberg, Tim Priddy, Mike Rogers, Jon Ross, Marty Dickens, David Gaboury, Pat Priest and Joel Rood. Each board member is elected annually by the firm’s Trustee on behalf of ESOP shareholders.
