Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. (SSR) is excited to announce the promotions of Eric Broome, Patrick Harrington, and Nick Taylor to the role of Regional Construction Engineering & Inspection (CEI) Manager within our Transportation business unit.
In their new roles, Broome, Harrington, and Taylor will lead a group of experienced CEI technicians working on roadway projects across the southeast, including Tennessee, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, and Arkansas. They will be responsible for ensuring that projects within the region are executed on time and in accordance with the client and project requirements; mentoring staff on project management and client relations; and helping to grow our presence and work in their respective regions. Broome will oversee CEI staff based in the Florida panhandle and Alabama; Harrington in middle and east Tennessee; and Taylor in west Tennessee and Arkansas.
Broome, Harrington, and Taylor have each been with SSR for several years and have extensive experience with the management of large, high-profile CEI contracts across the southeast. Broome, PE, has 27 years of experience in roadway design and construction management, and has overseen dozens of FDOT projects and other local agencies, including the recently completed Foy Shaw Parkway in Crestview, Florida. Harrington, PE, has a variety of experience in field inspection transportation design and has been involved in TDOT projects including Franklin Road (State Route 6), I-440 Reconstruction, and Albert Gallatin-Hatten Track Road extension. Taylor, PE, served as the Project Manager for the Wolf River Boulevard Connector, one of the largest TDOT Local Public Agency (LPA) projects to date at $25 million, and the I-40/I-240 Interchange Modifications, one of the largest projects in TDOT history at $110 million.
“As SSR’s CEI team continues to grow, I am proud of the promotions for Eric, Patrick, and Nick,” stated Alex Ray, Principal and CEI Department Head. “Each of them have extensive operational experience and are well respected by all of our CEI colleagues. As Regional CEI Managers, they’ll strive to deliver an exceptional client experience for all of our partners on projects and will help our colleagues grow and develop in their careers.”
